Developed and performed in Goa India, this was a site specific and performance work made by Lily Potger and Siddhartha James, presented by Kalakeli Arts (Niku Chaudhari) in 2023.
The site specific work was devised to incorporate improvisation scores that respond space through human interaction. Incorporating props such as clay pots, helmets and water guns the subjects navigate large trees and built environments whilst remaining in visual contact, enacting violence toward each other in varying proximity. This presentation focused on how to highlight the impact of space and proximity through 2 subjects visual proximity to each other.
The stage presentation of HOLDING used the site specific version to inform the scores, taking place. at the Jungle Dance studios the live performance of the scores were set against an empty space. This project made in collaboration with Siddartha James represented the first conventional stage work Lily choreographed.
