A collaboration between Miles Dunne, Lily Potger and myself. METAHUMAN is an exploration of posthuman ideas and the obscuring of interactions between audience and performer through technology. We were inspired by TIKTOK NPC streaming and the algorithmic influence social media platforms have on person to person interactions.
Audiences are tasked with a series of gamified interactive experiences, overlooked by an AI taskmaster, MUST.
In response to the successful completion (or failure) of tasks, the METAHUMAN is rewarded with positive or negative feedback in the form of verbal directions, generated by AI using feedback provided by MUST.
The development was intended to be a continuation of ideas developed for In The Belly of the Beast. By delivering the show as part of the Adelaide Fringe, concepts were reworked and new shapes were found for the final presentation.
